Factors That Contribute to Higher Ranking in Google

For the high ranking in Google search list is something like expecting bonus from a boss who is impossible to please. You do hit-and-trials on numerous SEO techniques to improve your ranking but every time you work hard, Google seems to change the ranking algorithm, leaving you distressed.

Actually there are more than 200 ranking factors, over which, Google draft its ranking algorithm. These factors help Google in directing proper page placement in the search list.  This is the reason why all your hard work to reach on the top goes in vain.

Fortunately, there are some key factors that are always a part of Google’s ranking algorithm. When followed, these factors can do quite well to promote your content. Check out the factors mentioned below:

Write good quality content

Content is considered as the king in the world of SEO. Its 2016, nobody wants to read a lengthy boring, non-interesting content, not even the search engines. Your content strategy should focus on the user needs more than what you need from that content. Making content out of the keywords is good for robots not for humans. The keywords you are using should naturally fit into your content. This is exactly what Google demands. By doing this, Google will definitely show your page on the top hence improving your ranking. Who knows, Google may feel proud to show such a high quality content.

Say no to Keyword Density approach

There was a time, when keyword density was considered as one of the main factors that improves Google ranking. But believe me; this strategy is of no use in today’s SEO market. Unnecessarily stuffing keywords where they do not relate will most likely to harm you rather than improving rank. So, it will be better if you focus on the quality of your content rather than going for a specific keyword density.

Use Long tail keywords

According to many SEO service providers, short and crisp keywords are always a great source for high volume searches. But where they lack is, these keywords also generate huge competition. You may find many related keywords in Google search that are much easier to rank than yours. For example, “Joint pain” and “joint pain relief remedies” are the two keywords that relates with each other. There are lots of people who are searching for joint pain so as the activities related to this keyword. For getting higher ranking with this keyword is quite difficult.

On the other hand, “joint pain relief remedies” keyword might have smaller search volume but at the same time it is more specific than the latter. You fill find much higher traffic quality as the user are more likely to convert.

Promote through social media

Social media is an effective platform to promote your content. Google will love to rank your content higher if it sees you have a good influence on social media as well. So, take advantage of this factor and get maximum hits and shares. The popular social media platforms for web promotion are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Instagram etc. You can also take help of relevant forums, blogs and newsletters to promote your content.

Write relevant image text

While adding an image with your content, you might have typed blah…blah….blah as an image name. By doing this, you are actually creating difficulty for Google to read your text. The way your content plays an important role in Google ranking, the same applies to the Alt text associated with the images. Image optimization falls under the best practices heading for webmasters only if done the right way.

Using the title text in the text of image along with a relevant keyword will be a good idea. Also try to write small and snappy image text so that Google finds it easy to read.

Conclusion

Being on the top is the desire of every SEO professional. It’s your unique strategy which will make you to do so. You have to think out of the box in order to get high ranking for your website. Do remember, you are writing for Humans not for robots. Hence, always focus on user intent before drafting any strategy
